Junior Achievement (JA) of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast is excited about the opportunity to help teachers, students, and families with digital education programs at home and the classroom.
JA saw a need for digital content to help teachers and students in their virtual classrooms and within the first couple of weeks of the schools closing, JA provided over 50 digital lessons and activities.
The list of JA content and number of students served is surging.
“We have served over 30,000 students with digital content since the schools closed and reopened on March 30 as virtual classrooms at home,” said Claudia Kirk Barto, president of Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast. “Many of our in-class programs that we offer are now virtual lessons.”
Now JA is continuing to offer digital programs and activities for the summer.
PUBLIC GOOGLE CLASSROOM JA PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES
A group of JA Google Classrooms have been setup for public access and can be used for Summer learning and fun. You can access the free content by going to Google Classroom and enter the following codes for each grade level:
• Elementary School: ftlyx6r
• Middle School: xaizhgw
• High School: y4fmidh
All users just need an @gmail.com email account to gain access. If you are a teacher you are asked to fill out the brief survey at the beginning of the JA Google Classroom when they join. Then they are free to use the content with a class.
Content has been produced to meet student needs from all demographics. For example, the Career Speaker Series has some professionals speaking in Spanish and Portuguese, as well as English. This will help the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) populations.
