(WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.)- Seminole Trails Elementary School in West Palm Beach recently played host to a unique and impactful initiative - JA in a Day. This innovative program, spearheaded by Junior Achievement (JA), brought together Citizens Private Bank corporate partners on Wednesday, Nov. 29. They stepped into the role of educators for an entire day and delivered hands-on, interactive JA programs to 2nd grade students.

Citizens Private Bank, a corporate partner of JA, embraced this opportunity wholeheartedly. Their employees took on the role of teachers for the day, bringing real-world experience and industry insights into the classrooms. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as volunteers imparted practical knowledge, making learning a dynamic and interactive experience for the students.

Leading up to the event, volunteers participated in comprehensive training sessions. These sessions equipped volunteers with the necessary classroom materials and teacher assignments, ensuring they were well-prepared to deliver engaging JA lessons.

The success of JA in a Day is not only in the impactful lessons delivered but also in the mutual collaboration between volunteers and educators. The program bridges the gap between the professional world and the classroom, providing students with a unique opportunity to connect what they learn in school to the realities of the working world.

Through JA Our Community, students are immersed in the daily life of their community—the people who work there, the money decisions they make, the flow of the community’s economy, and the importance of being an involved and responsible community member. They are introduced to the types of skills and knowledge necessary to be a worker in the community: the experience of working as a team in a pizza shop, buying and selling of goods and services in exchange for money, getting paid and paying taxes, exercising their civic duty to make decisions for the good of the community.
