(PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla.) — In recognition of Junior Achievement’s commitment to fostering financial literacy and economic empowerment among local students, Palm Beach County Commissioners have declared April as "Financial Literacy Month" in the county.

The proclamation acknowledges the critical role that Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast plays in bridging the gap between classroom learning and practical financial knowledge. Through its educational programs, the organization provides students with opportunities to learn about budgeting, saving, investing, and entrepreneurship, preparing them to navigate the complexities of the modern economy.

"Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast's mission to inspire and promote financial literacy is of paramount importance to our community," Commissioner Michael Barnett remarked. "Their dedication to equipping students with real-life money management skills is commendable and deserving of recognition."

The proclamation underscores the importance of collaboration among parents, educators, businesses, and community members in supporting Junior Achievement's initiatives. It calls upon all citizens to recognize and champion the organization's efforts in empowering youth to achieve economic success.

"Junior Achievement empowers students to become the next generation of productive employees and self-sufficient citizens," Commissioner Barnett continued. "By instilling in them the principles of financial responsibility and economic self-reliance, Junior Achievement contributes significantly to the economic prosperity of Palm Beach County."

In response to the proclamation, Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast (JAPBTC) expressed gratitude for the county's recognition and reaffirmed its commitment to providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an increasingly complex financial landscape.

"We are honored to receive this proclamation from Palm Beach County," said Claudia Kirk Barto, president of JAPBTC. "Financial literacy is a cornerstone of lifelong success, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every student in our community has access to the tools and resources they need to achieve their financial goals."

Throughout the month of April, Junior Achievement will continue its efforts to promote financial literacy through a variety of educational programs, workshops, and initiatives aimed at empowering youth across Palm Beach County.
