WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (June, 2020) -- Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast (JA), the organization dedicated to empowering young people to own their economic success, is proud to welcome Jay Boggess to their Board of Directors.
Mr. Boggess, who serves as the Assistant Superintendent of the Choice and Innovation Division for the School District of Palm Beach County, is a perfect fit for the local area of Junior Achievement that oversees many programs and outreaches for the community’s youth.
Since 2019, Mr. Boggess has helped to oversee 300+ school choice and career academy options for students in elementary, middle, and high schools, leading to increased enrollment and contributing to a school district graduation rate of over 90%; while increasing “College and Career” readiness via Industry Certifications and job placement thru local business partnerships; and works in collaboration with local colleges and universities to create opportunities for postsecondary success for both current students and recent graduates.
In addition, he oversees 39 Adult and Community Education sites offering learning opportunities to the community; acts as local educational agency for charter school sponsorship that includes the policy development, academic/fiscal monitoring, contract negotiation and application process preparation for 51 charter schools.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Boggess served as Deputy Superintendent and Principal of SouthTech Schools, District Administrator for the Department of Choice and Career Options, and Assistant Principal/Teacher at Inlet Grove Community High School.
Mr. Boggess earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelors of Secondary Education and History from Palm Beach Atlantic University. He has Florida Department of Education certificates in Educational Leadership, School Principal, and Teaching; and he is a member of Board of Directors for CareerSource Palm Beach County, Florida Students First Task Force, Palm Beach North Education Committee, and Palm Beach Tech Education Committee.

Mr. Boggess, his wife Anna, and their 5 children reside in Jupiter, Florida and attend public schools within the School District of Palm Beach County.
