(LAKE WORTH, Fla.) — Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches & Treasure Coast honored its 3DE by JA graduates at Lake Worth Community High School with a celebratory stole ceremony, recognizing years of growth, hard work, and achievement. The event also included the announcement of two student scholarship recipients.
Katelyn Bates, Director of Program and Volunteer Operations for Junior Achievement, addressed the crowd to express pride and appreciation for the graduating students and the school community.
“For most of you in this room who don’t know me, a large part of my role is helping run the 3DE by Junior Achievement program here at Lake Worth High School,” Bates said. “I’ve been honored to witness these students grow and advance over the last four years. Congratulations to all of the 3DE by JA graduates who have made it to this point.”

Designed to deepen understanding and sustain engagement, 3DE integrates business connectivity into all aspects of learning. The model provides students with opportunities to apply academic concepts in practical settings, enhancing knowledge retention and building essential skills for future success.
3DE schools serve as incubators of innovation, operating within existing high school campuses to reimagine how education is delivered.
Bates took the time to thank the many individuals who supported the program’s success, including teachers, administrators, and parents. She acknowledged core and launch teachers for bringing education to life by incorporating 3DE competencies into daily lessons, preparing students for presentations and interviews, and facilitating field trips and culminating events.

Special recognition was given to launch teachers Mr. Atienza, Ms. Joyner, and Mr. Luna for their role in planning major events, as well as Mr. Cain for his organizational support and willingness to assist wherever needed. Mr. Kennedy was commended for introducing business cases that energized students and connected them to potential future employers.
“To the parents, your presence here tonight shows your commitment to your students’ success,” Bates said. “And to our students, your transformation from freshman to senior year has been remarkable. I hope you leave this program with tools, frameworks, and confidence to thrive—no matter your path.”

Bates then presented the 3DE by JA scholarships, which are awarded annually through the generous support of the Stiles-Nicholson Foundation. This year’s recipients, Tessa Cadle and Natalie West, each received a $1,500 scholarship to apply toward their post-graduation education plans.
Following the announcement, Bates welcomed Lake Worth Community High School Principal Mrs. Villani to the stage to share closing remarks.
